After one years designing, manufacturing, a deal of trail and error and re-adjusting the structure after testing, the new style electrmagnetic stirrer with inner water cooling system which designed by the Electric Company had test run of the heating load on the No.1 continuous casting machine. Technicians in the Elctric Company, the dirictor of steel works and all the staffs participated in the test are willing to see the result. After 48hours waiting, the result satisfied all the staff and was exciting. The indicator for electrical performance and heating cooling performance of electrmagnetic stirrer  both passed the Standard for Test, fully meet the requirements of disign. Then the test of 36 sample proved that the inner structure of the samples fully meet the Technical requirements. Application of electromagnetic stir in continuous casting started from 70’s of 20 century. Baotou steel imported a number of electrmagnetic stirrers from Germany in 1997. On the basis of overhauling the electrmagnetic stirrers for many years, the Electric Company has gained rich experience and makes continuous  process improvement, and makes better scores in its acquisition. In Nov. 2009, the Electric Company employed technical person from ABB copmany who specialize in optimal design of electrmagnetic stirrer electromagnetic Fields, with the support of the steel mills, they developed  Annular  new type  winding internal  cooling water electric  magnetic stirrerfor steel-making. They changed winding structure in the old Electrmagnetic stirrer into ring form. They also used unique high magnetic gear structure, and changed the parameter as necessary. In the meantime, used the suitable wire, water pipe, outer covering and inner sleeve quality matetrial.
